Transfer students constitute a large and integral segment of the total student body at Ambrose. They bring a diversity of educational backgrounds that enrich and strengthen the overall academic experience for all students.

Each year, we welcome more than 225 transfer students who choose St. Ambrose as the best place to finish their degree. Why? Because we offer more than 75 major fields of study and pre-professional programs with a flexible schedule suited to meet your needs.

“Transfer student” refers to anyone who wants to bring in at least 12 credits earned at other universities or colleges (not while in high school).

Transfer students fall under slightly different admissions requirements, and they may be eligible for different types of financial aid. Also transfer students are assigned directly to an advisor in their major, unless they haven’t yet decided on their study area.

If you are a current SAU student seeking information on the transfer of college credits to SAU, contact the Records and Registration Office at 563/333-6202.

For more information on transferring to your advantage, contact Becky Stremlow, associate director of admissions, or Jeremy Burke, transfer counselor, at 563/333-6300 or admit@sau.edu.
